Washington Post: Hunter Biden’s lawyers, in newly aggressive strategy, target his critics

Original Article

Lawyers representing Hunter Biden have sent letters to state and federal prosecutors, requesting criminal investigations into individuals who accessed and disseminated his personal data. A separate letter was sent to Fox News host Tucker Carlson threatening him with a defamation lawsuit. The letters were sent by Abbe Lowell, who was recently hired as Biden’s lawyer, and Bryan M. Sullivan.

Lowell also wrote a letter to the Internal Revenue Service challenging the nonprofit status of a group run by conservative activist Garrett M. Ziegler. The lawyers are asking for investigations into several key players, including John Paul Mac Isaac, Rudy Giuliani, Robert Costello, Stephen K. Bannon, Jack Maxey, and Yaacov Apelbaum. A Justice Department spokesman declined to comment and the Delaware attorney general’s office was not immediately reached for comment.

Responses from individuals mentioned in the letters varied, with some questioning why the objections were raised so late. The authenticity of the material from Biden’s laptop has been debated and the lawyers seem to be conceding that some of the data made public is his private information.
